Eye Exams
Medical History
A complete eye exam will include a review of your medical history. The eyes
can be affected by a number of health conditions and medications. You will
want to come to your exam prepared to answer questions about your health
and any prescription and non-prescription medications you use.
Eye Health Testing
This part of your visit will require the most time. A microscope is used, your
pupils are dilated and the inside of each eye is viewed using special instruments.
The early signs of glaucoma, cataracts, hypertension and diabetes can be
seen during this part of the exam.
Refraction
Using doctor-controlled instruments the best prescription for corrective lenses
is determined.
