Obstetrics
The
MCRHC Obstetrics Unit provides individualized care by our nursing
staff. The unit consists of two LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery & postpartum)
rooms and one general care room. In the LDRP rooms our patients
labor, deliver their infant and are cared for during the remainder
of their hospital stay without having to move. Each room has a private
bathroom with a shower, television and telephone.
Rooming in of the newborn with the mother is welcomed to allow each mother and other family members the opportunity to bond with the newest family member.

All Obstetrics staff are certified in neonatal resuscitation. They annually receive updates on fetal heart monitoring. In addition, new information is obtained from attendance at the Annual Perinatal Conference in Des Moines.
