Helicopter Services
Mitchell County Regional Health Center has a dedicated helipad that was completed
in November 1999. The funds for the helipad were provided by the
Mitchell County Memorial Foundation’s Building a Foundation for
Life campaign.
There are two aeromedical services available to MCRHC.These include Mercy Air Life-North Iowa from Mason City, Iowa and Mayo One from Rochester, Minnesota. Both services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Mercy
Air Life-North Iowa is available to any emergency medical authority,
including hospital medical staff physicians and nurses, EMS ambulance
and first response units, police and highway patrols, sheriff and
fire departments.
Mayo One service is also available directly to the scene of an accident, but most transfers occur from a transferring rural medical facility to a Rochester facility.
