Free Physical Therapy Screenings Offered
Osage - The Cedar River Complex and the Mitchell County Regional Health Center have partnered to offer free physical therapy screenings beginning June 1. The screenings will take place at the Cedar River Complex on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7-8 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3-5 p.m. and will be conducted by certified physical therapists Jamie Sledd and Craig Mennenga.
According to Jamie Sledd, Manager of Rehabilitation Services for MCRHC, the injury screenings are geared toward helping CRC members and guests find solutions for any pain, discomfort or balance issues that may affect their ability to work out.
“Our goal is to help people return to their normal level of physical activity to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Sledd.
Sledd said three avenues explored during the sessions include helping members and guests with a plan they can implement at home, referral to a health care professional and simple, modified exercises to alleviate the problem.
Those interested in a screening should contact the CRC by calling 641-832-3600.
The Cedar River Complex is a multifaceted community recreational facility located in Mitchell County, Iowa. Four areas of the complex include an events center, a wellness center, a museum, and an auditorium. The complex is the result of partnerships formed between six Mitchell County organizations and brings communities together to meet, play, learn and enjoy.
